The token allocation is to establishing Women Entrepreneurs Development Unit in all banks and non-bank financial institutions, including Bangladesh Bank, for accelerating development of women entrepreneurship.

“We will also form a challenge fund to make sure that rural women and underprivileged entrepreneurs can access loans,” Finance Minister AMA Muhith told parliament today, placing the budget for the fiscal 2016-17.

Besides, plans are underway to initiate credit guarantee schemes for small entrepreneurs so that they are not denied bank loans for lack of collateral.

The government is also working to enhance productivity, generate employment opportunities and boost exports, Muhith said.
